SSS non-woven vs regular paper — material guide

The material decides whether massage paper survives the whole treatment or tears halfway. Here we explain what SSS non-woven is and why professional clinics choose it over regular paper.

What does SSS non-woven mean?

Non-woven means the material is a fibre fabric, not traditional woven or pressed paper. SSS stands for spunbond-spunbond-spunbond — three layers of spunbond fibre giving strength and softness at once.

The result feels more like fabric than paper: soft against the skin but strong enough not to tear.

Strength and moisture resistance

Regular cellulose paper absorbs oil and moisture and quickly soaks through and weakens. SSS non-woven handles moisture far better and keeps its strength even during oil massage.

That means fewer interrupted treatments and a surface that stays intact for the whole session.

Softness and skin feel

Built from fine fibres, non-woven feels soft and skin-friendly, without the roughness regular paper can have. The experience is more comfortable for the client.

25 gsm (grams per square metre) is a good balance of softness and durability for massage paper.

Frequently asked questions

Is non-woven the same as fabric?

No, but it is similar. Non-woven is a fibre fabric bonded without weaving, giving a soft yet strong surface.

Does SSS non-woven handle oil massage?

Yes. Unlike regular paper, SSS non-woven keeps its strength even when exposed to oil and moisture.
